Three PNGE students receive SPE Pittsburgh Scholarships

The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Pittsburgh section has awarded $30,000 in scholarships every year for the last five years. 12 outstanding students from Penn State University, Pittsburgh University and Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û who show great promise in and dedication to the petroleum engineering profession and related fields in the oil and gas industry are chosen for the scholarship.

This year, three students in the petroleum and natural gas engineering major at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û won the annual scholarships, worth $2500 each, from the SPE Pittsburgh Section. Please join us in congratulating Jan Vit Suntar, Connor Whitman and Desmend Phillips for their achievements. These students will receive their checks and certificates at the Penn State University SPE student chapter’s awards banquet on the April 14th.

Desmend Phillips is a PNGE freshman and president of Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û SPE Student Chapter and Saint Francis AAPG Student Chapter.
