More than 530 high school students from 30 local schools celebrated science on the ������ϲʿ������ campus for the 24th Annual Science Day event. Dr. Pete Skoner , Professor of Physics and Science Day organizer, started the morning off with the inspiring story of Maurice Stokes and Jack Twyman and the “Become That Someone” theme embraced by the University. New this year, Dr. Skoner invited students to “Become That Scientist” on Instagram throughout the day to share their science day experiences. The project to build a ������ϲʿ������ Tiny Classroom is officially a reality! The Tiny Classroom Big Impact project, currently under construction, will provide hands-on, renewable energy education for ������ϲʿ������ students and community members in central and southwestern Pennsylvania. A year ago, the Institute for Energy dreamed an idea to construct a tiny mobile classroom. They envisioned the classroom would utilize renewable energy and serve as a teaching tool about sustainability and power technologies for communities in the region. Dumouchelle, who is a triple major in International Studies , Political Science, and Spanish , is the recipient of the 2017 Ann Eppard Memorial Scholarship and Congressional Internship .
