Biography

Dr. Lorie Rowles, OTD, OTR/L, is an accomplished Occupational Therapist and an Associate Professor of Occupational Therapy. With a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy, she brings clinical experience and academic expertise to the Occupational Therapy program. Dr. Rowles is passionate about mentoring students, contributing to and advancing the field through various teaching methods, evidence-based practice and interdisciplinary approaches to healthcare education. Her areas of interest and specialization include neurorehabilitation and sensory integration. Within the department she has served as the department Chair and curriculum coordinator. She serves on various university committees and is the faculty advisor mentor for the Dance Team. She continues to pursue interests in the areas of vision rehabilitation, driving rehabilitation, preventative care, home modifications, and health and nutrition. Dr. Rowles is a member of the Pennsylvania Occupational Therapy Association (POTA) and American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). Through her work, she is committed to enhancing the quality of life for individuals of all ages.
